I Feel Blessed

"Be the change that you wish to see in the world."   - Mahatma Gandhi

I have always wanted to write a book for a long time now.  Of course my dream was interrupted by complications but I sure wish I had written a journal through my life and addiction – it could have been a best seller!
I started late with the Ultimate Blog Challenge but will continue blogging until the next one.  I was most surprised on Friday, when reading the latest posts that normally attract my attention, that I had been nominated for the Fabulous Blog Award.  You will never know how humbling that is for me and a big dose of motivation to start that book.  I feel truly blessed.

Rules for the Fabulous Blog Award:
1. Thank the blogger who gave it to you and share the link back to the awarding blog.
2. Name 5 fabulous moments in your life.
3. Name 5 things that you love.
4. Name 5 things you hate.
5. Pass the award to 5 deserving bloggers.

A big hug and thank you to:
Tina Britt who nominated me.  It is so gratifying to know that I have touched someone’s life – however small.  I appreciate your posts and your comments – they inspire me to continue writing.   Please check out Tina’s blog and see for yourself why she deserved her ribbon: http://www.athenabrady.co.uk/

Five fabulous moments in my life:
1.   The birth of my two boys was a life changing experience for me – unconditional love.
2.   Receiving an award at school for the most diligent pupil of the year – not the cleverest!
3.   Getting my degree at 40 – you are never too old to learn.
4.   My first and second anniversary in recovery – milestones that, by the Grace of God, will       continue.
5.  My son’s wedding – I have the most wonderful daughter in law a mother could wish for.

Five things that I love:
1.   My family, first and foremost.
2.   Recovery – learning to be me.
3.   Honesty – the most important principle in life.
4.   Reading and writing – for inspiration and creativity.
5.   The beauty of nature and being able to appreciate it.

Five things I dislike:
1.   Hatred and resentment – hence the change of the word in the rules!
2.   Politics – the cause of war and economic instability in our world.
3.   Intolerance of others – everyone should be allowed their own opinions.
4.   Idle gossip – rather say it to my face then talk behind my back.
5.   Cruelty – particularly the abuse of children and animals.

These are my nominations for five deserving bloggers:
1.   Jacqueline Garwood for introducing me to the Ultimate Blog Challenge through her inspiring posts.  I can’t wait to read you book: http://futurepull.wordpress.com/
2.   Emily Brewer for such a positive attitude and ongoing determination through the endless pain you have to endure: http://myinspiredlifewithfibromyalgia.blogspot.com/
3.   Cathy Morton for your humour and interesting posts – a daily dose of great writing : http://cathysvoicenow.wordpress.com/
4.   Kina who shares the same road of happy destiny through recovery.   As you said, everyone needs a little recovery sometime in their life : http://humaninrecovery.wordpress.com/
5.   Angie Hottentots-Laurel for your little drops of wisdom from someone who is actually very wise : http://dailyhottentots.wordpress.com/

Pay it forward, keep on writing and never forget to count your blessings xxx
